This adventure of mine, this bike ride, could not have happened at a more appropriate time in my life for so many reasons. In addition, the experience itself was literally exactly what I needed in my life. I learned a great deal on this ride; about myself, about other people, about the world around me. The most important thing I have learned though is that every day is a truly new day.
We can not control what happened yesterday, we can not know what will happen tomorrow; all we can do is try our hardest to make sure that today, right now, we are living a life that we can be proud of; living a life that really matters.
I used to believe that the things in my life that I didn't like were obstacles in the way of my happiness. Rolf says it perfectly though, 'The Obstacles In Our Path Are Our Path.' Those bumps, they are learning opportunities, those rainy days, they are adventures. My path may be a bumpy one, it may be hilly, and filled with potholes and loose gravel but it's still my path. And those hills, and bumps, and potholes, and gravel, those aren't obstacles, they're my path.
And I've never felt so prepared to be heading down my path as I do right now.
